Through education and support, you can take control of your diabetes.
The Stanford Medical School’s Diabetes Self-Management Program will teach you the skills you need to take
control of your life. You will learn techniques to deal with symptoms of diabetes, fatigue, pain,
hyper/hypoglycemia, stress and emotional problems such as depression, anger, fear and frustration.
Topics include:

  • Appropriate exercise to improve strength, flexibility, and endurance
  • Healthy eating
  • Appropriate use of medication
  • Skills to communicate effectively with family, friends, and health professionals
  • Step-by-step plan to improve your health- and your life

Join us for this interactive 6 week workshop (2 ½ hours each week).

This workshop begins Friday, May 12 and continues each Friday through June 16

National Diabetes Prevention Program Leader Training @ Northern Nevada HOPES
May 18 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Help Promote Better Health and Prevent Type 2 Diabetes in Your Community Learn to lead the National Diabetes Prevention Program with the curriculum developed by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The year-long curriculum is broken into 16 weekly sessions followed by six monthly sessions.

In this two-day live leader training, you will learn to promote self-management tools and skills to achieve a healthier lifestyle through balanced eating and regular physical activity.
